Feline Outreach is deeply distraut over the recent tragedies surrounding the recent
pet food recalls. Our sincere sympathy goes out to
all those with sick or deceased pets. We know they were beloved
members of your family, and we grieve with you for your many losses.
If you are in need of financial assistance for vet bills arising from
the tainted food, please see our assistance section, where you will
find an application.
If you are looking for more information on the recall, we suggest

Feline Outreach still believes a wet diet is far superior to a dry
food in providing cats with optimal health. While we understand all
the concerns surrounding this latest recall, we have to acknowledge
that this is not solely a canned food issue. In 2005, nearly 80 dogs
died from a toxin in dry food. Consider a canned food - or a commercial
raw diet - that does not contain wheat gluten. If you feel compelled to
make your own cat food, please use a nutritionally complete recipe such
as those provided at catnutrition.org and catinfo.org.
Wishing all of you and your pets health and happiness,
Feline Outreach
