Meow Meow, one of the beloved cats of Lynette Ackman (one of the founders of Feline Outreach), passed away rather suddenly on August 25, 2006 from congestive heart failure. Meow Meow was Lynette's first diabetic cat, and because of her Lynette learned much about feeding her cats properly and treating feline diabetes mellitus. Lynette met the other two founders, Trina and Jenny, through her research on caring for cats with diabetes - as Jenny and Trina also had cats diagnosed around the same time. After Meow Meow's passing, a memorial fund was created to generate funds for the start-up of Feline Outreach, a long-term dream of Lynette's. Thank you to the kind and generous donors to this fund: |
